The Lessons
Mike teaches all styles on either Electric, Acoustic or Spanish / Classical (nylon strung) guitar. Rock, Blues, Pop, Country, Jazz, Classical etc. All age groups from beginners to advanced. Each lesson is tailored to suit the individual who can either choose to study a standard, structured examination-based course such as the London College of Music Diploma in electric guitar playing or, opt for a lesson specifically aimed at the individual who, having provided a list of the titles and tracks that they themselves wish to aspire towards playing, will be shown, from scratch if need be, the techniques and theories required to enable them to do so. The traditional route of sight reading music can be pursued or simply the good old-fashioned ‘playing-by-ear’ method can be used- either way the lesson is fun and accomplished. All the necessary sheets, charts etc will be provided along with a summary of the lesson recorded on video (VHS tape to be supplied by the student) for continued referral so the student is not necessarily locked into a weekly lesson - he or she simply requesting the next one when desired, representing a considerable saving in time, effort and expense.
Keyboard - vocal and performance techniques tuition can also be provided to supplement.
The Musician
Mike Jordan has been playing and teaching guitar professionally since
leaving college in 1977. He has a wealth of experience as both a guitar
tutor and player, having toured extensively either in his own right or
appearing with international rock, pop or cabaret stars such as Tina Turner,
Sir Elton John, Sir Bob Geldoff, Thin Lizzy, Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix)
Gene Pitney, the Carpenters band and Bernard Manning(!) to name but a
diverse few. He has also performed in the ‘West End Showstoppers’ revue.
Mike is also an accomplished piano/keyboard player and vocalist and a
regular performer in this triple role, with his own band the The
SpotLites Mike is one of the handful of elite few who have graduated
from the London College Of Music and the Registry Of Guitar Tutors patroned
by Sir Paul McCartney, attaining the rigorous and hallowed Teaching Diploma.
He is renowned for his expert knowledge, successful, friendly, informative
and highly individual teaching techniques and has taught countless numbers
of students from young beginners through serious hobbyists and he regularly
coaches top professional players. All styles, all levels. From complete

also the founder and director of Rockademy
Ltd, A specialist touring Rock school, appearing at schools, colleges
and festivals nationwide.
